 Sanford Real Estate Information

Sanford, located on the south shore of Lake Monroe and at the head of the St. Johns River, began as a trade hub in the late 19th Century and is now the county seat of Seminole County. Sanford has strong roots in the citrus industry; the town's namesake and founder, Henry Shelton Sanford, developed a citrus grove and experimental garden named Belair that tested more than 140 orange varieties for their adaptability to the Central Florida climate. Home to about 38,000 residents, the city preserves its history through two historic districts listed on the National Register of Historic Places and a walking tour of the downtown historic district.

Sanford sits along the northern end of the I-4 Corridor between Daytona Beach and Orlando and borders the magnificent St. John's River. The Central Florida GreeneWay begins in Sanford and forms the Eastern Beltway around Orlando ending at Walt Disney World. Sanford's historic downtown is currently being revitalized with the main centerpiece being a beautiful 80-year-old clock. Residents also enjoy the Central Florida Zoological Park, the Marina, and an impressive Civic Center. Come discover the many ways this beautiful community is calling you home.
