Windermere
Surrounded by three sand bottom lakes, the Town of Windermere, Florida, is in Orange County, about 14 miles southwest of Orlando. Lake Butler is west of the town, Lake Down is east, and Lake Bessie is southeast. Lakes Butler and Down are connected via a system of canals to six other lakes that form the Butler Chain. The Bay Hill community is centered on Arnold Palmer's 27-hole championship golf course, Bay Hill Club. This beautiful, challenging course covers 270 acres, located along the shores of the Butler Chain of Lakes.
Dr. Phillips
Also located along the Butler Chain of Lakes, the community of Dr. Phillips was founded by Dr. Philip Phillips, one of Orlando's first millionaires. Dr. Phillips is served by two elementary schools, a middle school, and high school, which are all part of the award-winning Orlando County Public Schools system.
